    </td></tr> </tbody></table></center> “Slow Down” is a sound recorded on May 19, 1997, in the Equatorial Pacific ocean by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The source of the sound remains unknown. The name was given because the sound slowly decreases in frequency over about 7 minutes. The sound was detected at 15°S 115°W? / ?15°S 115°W? / -15; -115. It was recorded using an autonomous hydrophone array. The sound has been picked up several times each year since 1997. One of the hypotheses on the origin of the sound is moving ice in Antarctica. Sound spectrograms of friction closely resemble the spectrogram of the Slow Down. This suggests the source of the sound could be a friction phenomenon of ice rubbing over land. More of similar to this were recorded but later in different areas and different frequencies namely; [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDT1WWJpa9U"]Julia[/ame], [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe8HMUXP7es&feature=related"]Upsweep[/ame], and [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-Eihpmsz7w&feature=related"]Train[/ame].

    Caution: the recording is violent and may be too intense for some listeners.
    “Electronic Voice Phenomenon” or the Phantom Words are electronically generated noises that resemble speech, but may or may not be the result of intentional voice recordings or renderings. Some have claimed these sounds are of paranormal origin, while others give explanations such as apophenia (finding significance in insignificant phenomena), auditory pareidolia (interpreting random sounds as voices in their own language) but no explanation is generally accepted. Now thousands of people across world spend their free time in wandering around haunted locations and installing recorders and video cameras in hopes of spooks and apparition. The evidence could be found at City of Dundee in Scotland, a city packed full of dead people, really a huge part of this city is formed over a massive ancient graveyard. It’s here wondering among the deceased, many EVP investigators have recorded strange findings.
    8. Quacker

    [IMG]
    Quackers” are mysterious sounds, similar to a frog noise, widely reported by the crews of Soviet Navy submarines from various parts of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans during the peak of the Cold War, as well as their assumed sources. They are an example of Unidentified Submerged Objects. During the Cold War, when Soviet ballistic missile submarines went to patrol northern seas, their crews started reporting the mysterious frog-like sounds, which soon were dubbed “quackers”, from the Russian rendition of a frog noise. These sounds appeared when submarines passed certain zones in the sea, and behaved as if they were emitted by some moving underwater object, which, however, failed to register on the active sonar. When the sub left their “patrol zone”, the objects disappeared after emitting one final “quack”. These objects exhibited behavior not unlike some living being or manned vessel, showing obvious interest in the passing submarine, circling around it, trying to actively avoid sonar pulses, and so on. The speed of some of these objects (estimated from Doppler shift of their sound frequency) was in the range of 200 km/h, much higher than any then-known man-made vessel. Contact was attempted on several occasions, but, apart from some obvious reactions to these attempts such as changing the pitch of the sounds or movement of the apparent sound source), nothing came of it.

    7. Sounds from Planets in Vaccum

    For obvious reasons we know sound needs a medium to be transmitted then how come these sounds are possible from space where there is just vacuum, this remains unexplained. May be the scientists should reconsider the definition of sound and explain that sounds exist as electromagnetic too or may be they should redefine “space” which literally means empty? huh? And if they explain that they’re still eerie and otherworldly.

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a73p6EORPyY&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Brainiac Science Abuse - Brown Noise[/ame]

    The “Brown Note” is a theoretical infrasound frequency that would cause humans to lose control of their bowels due to resonance. During many shows on Science Channel, they broadcast the note over the air (and into the living rooms of viewers) in an attempt to cause bowel movements among those who had chosen to stay in the room despite repeated warnings and opportunities to leave. It should be noted, however, that sound at this frequency at a significant volume cannot be generated by television speakers, so you might feel only slight movements in your tummy but don’t poo. However sub-woofers might help which were used on the test subject. The explanation for this note which causes subject’s bowls to loose is not known.

    5. Mistpouffers “Unexplained Sonic Booms”

    Mistpuffers” are unexplained reports that sound like sonic boom. They have been heard in many waterfront communities around the world such as the banks of the river Ganges in India, the East Coast and inland Finger Lakes of the United States, as well as areas of the North Sea, Japan and Italy; and sometimes away from water. Their sound has been described as being like distant but inordinately loud thunder while no clouds are in the sky large enough to generate lightning. Those familiar with the sound of cannon fire say the sound is nearly identical. The booms occasionally cause shock waves that rattle plates. Early white settlers in North America were told by the native Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) that the booms were the sound of the Great Spirit continuing his work of shaping the earth. One explanation for why they are usually heard near water, is that inland communities are often too noisy to hear these booms. Their origin has not been positively identified. They have been tried to explain as: Meteorite impacts, Gas escaping from vents in the Earth’s surface, Underwater caves collapsing, and the air rapidly rising to the surface and in some cases, they have been associated with earthquakes.

    4. The UVB-76 Buzzer

    It seems like a mystery worthy of lost – a strange repeating radio signal from Russia, punctuated by occasional cryptic messages in Russian. It is the callsign of a shortwave radio station that usually broadcasts on the frequency 4625 kHz (AM suppressed lower sideband). It is known among radio listeners by the nickname ” The Buzzer”. Short, monotonous buzzing tones have been emitted 25 times per minute, 24 hours a day since 1982, and nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps it’s used to transmit encoded messages to spies, or signal the status of some undercover military installation. Or, maybe it’s just related to high-frequency Doppler weather radar. The voice messages transmitted by this signal, which have occurred only three times in 1997, 2002 and 2006, have all been numerical in nature. One features a Russian male voice saying “”Ya ? UVB-76. 18008. BROMAL: Boris, Roman, Olga, Mikhail, Anna, Larisa. 742, 799, 14.”

    3. Bloop

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBN56wL35IQ&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - The Bloop: A Mysterious Sound from the Deep Ocean | NOAA SOSUS[/ame]

    The Bloop” is the name given to an ultra-low frequency and extremely powerful underwater sound detected by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) several times during 1997. The source of the sound remains unknown. According to the NOAA description, it “rises rapidly in frequency over about one minute and was of sufficient amplitude to be heard on multiple sensors, at a range of over 5,000 km.” The NOAA’s Dr. Christopher Fox does not believe its origin is human, such as a submarine or bomb, nor familiar geological events such as volcanoes or earthquakes. While the audio profile of the bloop does resemble that of a living creature but its not, the source is a mystery both because it is different from known sounds and because it was far too loud: it was several times louder than the loudest known biological sound of the blue whale.
    2. Hums

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGHe7rdq0Ds&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - Taos Hum[/ame]

    The Hum” is the common name of a series of phenomena involving a persistent and invasive low-frequency humming noise not audible to all people. Hums have been reported in various geographical locations. In some cases a source has been located. A well-known case was reported in Taos, New Mexico, and thus the Hum is sometimes called the Taos Hum. They have been reported all over the world, especially in Europe: a Hum on the Big Island of Hawaii, typically related to volcanic action, is heard in locations dozens of miles apart. Other elements seem to be significantly associated with the Hum, being reported by an important proportion of hearers, but not by all of them. Many people hear the Hum only, or much more, inside buildings as compared with outdoors. Many also perceive vibrations that can be felt through the body. Earplugs are reported as not decreasing the Hum. The Hum is often perceived more intensely during the night. The Hum is most often described as sounding somewhat like a distant idling diesel engine. Difficult to detect with microphones, its source and nature are unknown.
    1. Wow Signal

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcSWDzd2cDU&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - WOW Signal[/ame]

    The Wow! signal was a strong narrowband radio signal detected by Dr. Jerry R. Ehman on August 15, 1977, while working on a Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence SETI project at The Big Ear radio telescope of Ohio State University. The signal bore expected hallmarks of potential non-terrestrial and non-solar system origin. It lasted for a total of 72 seconds, the full duration Big Ear observed it, but has not been detected again. Much attention has been focused on it in the media when talking about SETI results. Both the length of the Wow! signal, 72 seconds, and its shape corresponds to an extraterrestrial origin but its source remains unexplained. The region of the sky in which the signal was heard, lies in the constellation Sagittarius, roughly 2.5 degrees south of the fifth-magnitude star Chi-1 Sagittarii. Since then, its never been heard again.
